Vanessa Hudgens Plans a Career Change
July 2, 2009 by Heather
Vanessa Hudgens recently told MTV that she’s planning a career change.

Following boyfriend Zac Efron’s lead, Vanessa says she plans to start steering clear of musicals and even singing in general. She says:
“I love musicals, I really do. I grew up doing them, so it’ll always have a place in my heart. At the same time, it’s nice to be able to separate the two and just be able to focus on films.”
She’s done pretty well so far with two upcoming movies that are much more grown-up, including Beastly, which will come out sometime next year. It’s a modern take on the classic Beauty and the Beast story and costars Alex Pettyfer, Mary-Kate Olsen and Neil Patrick Harris.
Her second upcoming project is Sucker Punch, which is about a girl whose abusive stepfather institutionalizes her, which causes her to retreat into a fantasy world where she eventually comes up with a plan of escape. Sucker Punch is slated for a 2011 release.

Zac Efron Makes a Beer Run
July 1, 2009 by Heather
Zac Efron was spotted out and about yesterday evening after meeting up with a friend for dinner at an Olive Garden restaurant in LA.
Zac apparently had a wardrobe change right after dinner (where he wore a light blue button-up shirt and jeans), and opted for a short-sleeved tee-shirt and shorts to pick up some Corona Light beer at a local Vons grocery store after with his friend.
I wonder if they remembered limes?
Zac Efron Takes to the Seas
June 29, 2009 by Heather
Or at least the marina! Zac Efron was spotted buffing up his nautical skills this weekend at Marina del Rey in Los Angeles.
In preparation for his role in “The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud,” Zac joined up with a seasoned sailor and got some practice time in on a sunny Friday. Wearing a long-sleeved white t-shirt and shorts, he was spotted learning the ropes in a small boat that says “Toy Story” on the back!
The movie is based on the bestselling novel “The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud,” written by Ben Sherwood. The story follows the bond between two brothers, one of whom survives a tragic crash and one who doesn’t. It is set in a cemetery, where Charlie St. Cloud works as a caretaker and speaks to the ghost of his dead brother, Sam.
Vanessa Hudgens Talks Superheroes
June 26, 2009 by Heather
Vanessa Hudgens recently sat down for a quick interview with MTV while on the set of Beastly to talk about kickass female comic characters.

When asked what superhero film she’d love to see an adaptation of, Vanessa, who’s been dating Zac Efron for several years now, said she’d like to see a movie about Wonder Woman. She then explained how it was Catwoman that made her parents realize how much she wanted to get into acting:
“Honestly, when I was a kid, one of the reasons my parents realized I loved showbiz was because I dressed up every single day in my Catwoman costume. So maybe someday, down the line… I could play Catwoman.”
The full interview on video can be seen at MTV.com.
What do you think? Would Vanessa make a good Catwoman?

Breckin Meyer Calls Out Zac Efron
Actor/comedian Breckin Meyer has called out Zac Efron!
In the style of Perez Hilton’s drama with Black Eyed Peas’ Will.i.am, Breckin calls Zac out for skating with his girlfriend during a couples skate song at the Robot Chicken Skate party, after Breckin asked both Zac and his girlfriend if he could skate with her.
Poor Breckin is now forever damaged for having to solo skate during a couples skate song (”The Titanic Song”).

Zac Efron to Star in Untitled Thriller
June 24, 2009 by Heather
This isn’t really giving us much to work with! Apparently Zac Efron has signed on to star in an untitled thriller.

But not only is the title being kept secret, but so is the plot and character info. Why bother announcing it? To let us know Zac is taking on a mature, non-teen-heartthrob starring role? We get it already!
Zac will be working with writer Leslie Dixon, whom he also worked with on Hairspray. No word on a director yet.
I like thrillers in general and I can’t wait to hear bout this one, so hopefully we’ll get some more information soon!

Vanessa Hudgens Says Kissing Is Awkward
June 23, 2009 by Heather
For a scene, that is! Zac Efron’s longtime girlfriend, Vanessa Hudgens, recently talked about her upcoming movie, Bandslam.

In one scene she kisses costar Gaelan Connell, and about it she says:
“The kissing scene was fine. It’s just part of the job. It’s not like the ‘Oh that was so romantic’. In reality it is so awkward.”
I wonder if she felt the same way about her lip-locking scenes with Zac in the HSM movies?
Bandslam will hit theaters August 14th. Vanessa plays Sa5m (”the 5 is silent”), a high school student who befriends a new kid in town. Together they assemble a fledgling rock band and achieve their dreams to compete against the best in the biggest event of the year, a battle of the bands.

The premise of the movie is a Beauty and the Beast with a modern twist when a New York teenager is transformed into a hideous monster in order to find true love. It co-stars Alex Pettyfer as the beast and Mary-Kate Olsen.
I can’t wait to see this! It has a release date of July 30, 2010.
Zac Efron to Star in Teen Wolf Remake?
June 19, 2009 by Heather
I really hope this one’s just a rumor but time will tell!

Warner Brothers, who recently bought the rights to the movie, are apparently set on remaking the 1985 classic Teen Wolf, which originally starred Michael J. Fox as a teenager who discovers he’s a werewolf.
Guess who’s being discussed for the lead role? Zac Efron’s name has been tossed around on several other sites now, though there’s no telling what WB has in mind just yet.
It’s still a ways off, but what do you think? Should he do it or is this just another road to being a movie stereotype?
