Plans For High School Musical 4 Announced

Yes, really! High School Musical 3 isn’t even being filmed yet and Disney has announced today that plans for High School Musical 4 are in the works (rumors of which were already floating around last December).
Disney Channel Worldwide President Rich Ross confirmed the news to MTV.com, saying:
“We are writing High School Musical 4. We have learned that just putting a number next to a title is a very old idea. We have to have a new story.”
All the stars of the original TV movie, including Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale, signed up for the third picture. But Ross fears Disney might not be able to persuade all of the original cast to reprise their roles for a fourth time.
He adds, “Are we going to have all the cast back? Probably not. Will we have some of them? I hope so.”
This goes along well with the rumors that some of the new cast members of High School Musical 3 will be the ones to carry on the torch as the majority of the main actors for the first three HSMs barely wanted to come back for #3! (Not to mention HSM3 is about their senior year, so unless they come back as, I don’t know, teachers aids or janitors or something I don’t see how they’d work that in!)

Wow - that’s awesome. I have to say I was surprised this movie series took off like it did - but with four sequels it’s still going strong. It will be interesting to see if they can get the Zac, Vanessa, and Ashley back for the fourth one.

I think all 6 of the orginals should come back but base it on something about their last summer together before they all take of for college
