Zac Efron’s a Nice Guy
Longtime Zac Efron fans won’t be surprised by this, but (if true) it’s a sweet story just the same:
Lainey Gossip shared a post this week about a Zac encounter she recently witnessed. Lainey volunteers at Covenant House in Vancouver, a center for homeless and at-risk youth.
While Zac was in Vancouver filming “The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud,” he and girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens (in Vancouver filming “Sucker Punch”) walked past the center and stopped to talk for a few minutes to a teen that was outside. During the course of the conversation the boy talked about why he was at the center and expressed an interest in acting and Zac encouraged him.
When it came time to part ways, Zac didn’t have a photo on hand to autograph, but a package showed up at the center for the boy the next day. In it was an autographed photo with a personal note to the teen, encouraging him to stick with his program and to pursue his dreams. It was signed “Love, Zac.”
Now, I admit, it sounded a little corny when I first read it, but honestly, can you imagine Zac doing this? I can. Zac is one of the few young actors these days that I think genuinely cares — about others and about his work — even when there aren’t cameras around or crowds of fans screaming his name. He’s one of the few role models these days that I think kids could really benefit from looking up to.
