Zac and Vanessa Up For MTV Awards

The MTV Movie Awards are upon us again, and both Zac Efron and longtime girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens are up for awards!
Zac is up for Best Male Performance, and Vanessa for Breakthrough Performance Female.
They’re both up for Best Kiss, and High School Musical 3 is nominated for Best Movie.

Zac Efron Accepts Breakthrough Performer of the Year Award

Zac Efron was in Las Vegas, Nevada yesterday to accept his award for Breakthrough Performer of the Year at the ShoWest 2009 ceremony, held at the Paris Hotel.
Zac was honored for his performances in both Hairspray and High School Musical 3: Senior Year.
Of Zac, co-managing director of the event Mitch Neuhauser, said:
“His undeniable onscreen presence and charm have connected with fans around the world, and with the impending release of the comedy 17 Again, Zac Efron is poised to break out as a true Hollywood star. We are so pleased to be able to present him with the ShoWest 2009 Breakthrough Performer of the Year Award.”
ShoWest is an exclusive event for the cinema exhibition and distribution community.

Vanessa Hudgens & HSM3 Win Kids Choice Awards

Zac Efron’s longtime girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens was up for the Favorite Female Movie Star award at this year’s Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards, and she won! In her acceptance speech she thanked her younger sister Stella, the cast of High School Musical 3, and all her fans.
She was nominated for her role as Gabriella Montez in High School Musical 3, and was up against Jennifer Aniston (Marley & Me), Anne Hathaway (Get Smart), and Reese Witherspoon (Four Christmases).
High School Musical 3, which was up against Bedtime Stories, The Dark Knight, and Iron Man also walked away with the award for Favorite Movie!

Design Ideas For High School Musical 3

My friend Nikki over at Celeb Look recently had the opportunity to interview Caroline B. Marx, the costume designer for High School Musical 3: Senior Year.
Caroline talked about the ideas and concepts for the different costumes used in the movie, including a few for Zac Efron’s character, Troy Bolton, and Vanessa Hudgens’ character, Gabriella Montez.

Vanessa Hudgens Scores Nickelodeon Kids Choice Nomination

Zac’s girlfriend and co-star Vanessa Hudgens has nabbed a nomination in this year’s Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards. She’s up for Favorite Female Movie Star for High School Musical 3!
She’s got some stiff competition and is up against Jennifer Aniston for Marley & Me, Anne Hathaway for Get Smart, and Reese Witherspoon for Four Christmases.
Though Zac didn’t get a nomination himself, High School Musical 3: Senior Year is up for Favorite Movie.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is hosting the award show, and voting starts March 2 on Nick.com/kca. The big show will be broadcast live on March 28 on Nickelodeon!

Zac and Vanessa on Mezamashi TV

During their visit to Japan for the High School Musical 3: Senior Year premiere, Zac Efron and girlfriend/co-star Vanessa Hudgens are interviewed by Japan’s Mezamashi TV.
I wish I could understand what’s being said at the beginning because at one point the anchors got a real kick out of something Zac says!
The show goes on with a bunch of HSM clips and Zac and Vanessa answering questions with the help of an interpreter, talking about the fans in Japan, the shopping they’ve done, and share a few pictures they’ve taken, including Zac helping “prepare” sushi, and Vanessa shares a pair of socks she bought.

Zac and Vanessa’s Tokyo Premiere

Zac Efron and girlfriend/co-star Vanessa Hudgens are in Japan this week for the premiere of High School Musical 3: Senior Year.
The duo got the excited Japanese fans in the right mood for the premiere, with Zac looking dashing in a basic black suit with a white shirt and black tie, and Vanessa in a stunning classic look with a beige minidress and heels.

Zac and Vanessa Touchdown in Tokyo

Zac Efron and girlfriend/co-star Vanessa Hudgens headed to Tokyo this weekend to finish off the High School Musical 3 promotionals.
They landed at Narita Airport and were greeted by 30 police and security guards and a whole lot of screaming fans!

Zac and Vanessa Up for Razzies
I know the Razzies are really a weird kind of honor but I don’t think Zac or Vanessa are deserving of Worst Actor noms, do you?
Their company isn’t too bad though, with the likes of Tom Cruise, Zooey Deschanel, and Reese Witherspoon.
High School Musical 3 and Kenny Ortega made the list, probably each because of the other!
The Razzies, or Golden Raspberry Awards, honor the worst movies of the year. They’ll be awarded February 21st in Hollywood.
Zac and Vanessa Sydney Interview

Zac, Vanessa and Ashley were in Australia last week for the HSM3 premiere and as usual sat down for an interview.
As often as they ask about it these interviewers sure seem to get a kick out of Zac being “astounded” by his fans, don’t they?
Vanessa also talks about being kick boxed by a kangaroo on her last visit Down Under (which Zac apparently thought was hilarious!), and the weirdest merchandise she’s found her face plastered on.
