It’s the day many fans have been waiting for: Zac Efron finally got a haircut!

He’s been sporting the shaggy ‘do for what seems like months now, occasionally slicking it back for award appearances but usually just letting it hang.

On Thursday he was spotted leaving La Peer Salon in Beverly Hills, California, and rumor has it he took the scissors to it for a role, probably The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud.

Whatever it’s for, I think it looks great and wish he’d stick to a shorter cut! What do you think?

Zac Efron was recently spotted by a photographer having a snack of iced tea and an apple or pear during a meeting at the Northrop Grumman Plaza in Century City.

He looks pretty awkward trying to dodge the paps, and his companion doesn’t quite seem to know how to react either. I wonder what the meeting was about — maybe one of the roles he’s rumored to be taking on?

Zac Efron stopped by the Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles, California yesterday morning to spend some time with the kids and staff.

Wearing the ever-present beanie and a bright orange t-shirt that reads “I’m Beading Cancer,” Zac made the stop to show his support for Marnie Rocks “Beading” Cancer day.

He spent about an hour inside before leaving, giving his thanks and encouragement to hospital staff.

More pictures have been released of Vanessa Hudgens’ upcoming movie, Bandslam.

In the movie, Zac Efron’s longtime girlfriend plays Sa5m (”the 5 is silent”), a high school student who befriends a new kid in town. Together they assemble a fledgling rock band and achieve their dreams to compete against the best in the biggest event of the year, a battle of the bands.

The movie co-stars Aly Michalka, Gaelan Connell, and Lisa Kudrow. It hits theaters August 14th.

Zac Efron was spotted out with fellow actor Leonardo DiCaprio last night at the Game 2 of the NBA final between Los Angeles Lakers and Orlando Magic at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Zac was wearing a black t-shirt and ever-present knit beanie, and Leo tried to keep it a bit more covered up with a baseball cap and sunglasses.

Zac’s brother Dylan was also at the game with him, and the guys also hung out with Maroon 5’s Adam Levine. The Lakers defeated Orlando 100-75.

The two hunky actors have hung out before at a basketball game, and Zac has mentioned that he looks up to Leo and Leo has said he admires Zac as well.

The tabloids sure do like to speculate on the state of Zac Efron and girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens’ relationship!

According to Star magazine, “Zac’s been told that to go from a teen idol to a major movie star, he has to distance himself from his HSM image. One big thing that means is no more Vanessa. When people see them together, they think of their characters.”

Personally, I think that’s a dumb reason to break-up with someone you love but stranger things have happened. Zac is supposedly “agonizing” over the decision and plans to do the deed over the summer when he leaves for New England in July to begin filming The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud.

But it was only for an hour! While disembarking from his flight to Japan this past week, Zac Efron had to wait around for an hour on the plane.

Zac took it all in stride though: “[A few people from the hospital] had what I guess was a heat sensing camera and they took pictures of us - everyone was different shades of yellow and orange and green, it was pretty funny. But I cleared and made it in. I’m okay!

About the face masks that are a lot more prevalent in Japan than in the States, Zac says: “The [face] masks are awesome. They decorate them very creatively here and I think it kind of works, it’s cool. The only downside is that I don’t get to see their beautiful smiles!”
