Vanessa Hudgens recently told MTV that she’s planning a career change.

Following boyfriend Zac Efron’s lead, Vanessa says she plans to start steering clear of musicals and even singing in general. She says:

“I love musicals, I really do. I grew up doing them, so it’ll always have a place in my heart. At the same time, it’s nice to be able to separate the two and just be able to focus on films.”

She’s done pretty well so far with two upcoming movies that are much more grown-up, including Beastly, which will come out sometime next year. It’s a modern take on the classic Beauty and the Beast story and costars Alex Pettyfer, Mary-Kate Olsen and Neil Patrick Harris.

Her second upcoming project is Sucker Punch, which is about a girl whose abusive stepfather institutionalizes her, which causes her to retreat into a fantasy world where she eventually comes up with a plan of escape. Sucker Punch is slated for a 2011 release.

Vanessa Hudgens recently sat down for a quick interview with MTV while on the set of Beastly to talk about kickass female comic characters.

When asked what superhero film she’d love to see an adaptation of, Vanessa, who’s been dating Zac Efron for several years now, said she’d like to see a movie about Wonder Woman. She then explained how it was Catwoman that made her parents realize how much she wanted to get into acting:

“Honestly, when I was a kid, one of the reasons my parents realized I loved showbiz was because I dressed up every single day in my Catwoman costume. So maybe someday, down the line… I could play Catwoman.”

For a scene, that is! Zac Efron’s longtime girlfriend, Vanessa Hudgens, recently talked about her upcoming movie, Bandslam.

In one scene she kisses costar Gaelan Connell, and about it she says:

“The kissing scene was fine. It’s just part of the job. It’s not like the ‘Oh that was so romantic’. In reality it is so awkward.”

I wonder if she felt the same way about her lip-locking scenes with Zac in the HSM movies?

ET had a brief promo of Vanessa Hudgens‘ upcoming film, Beastly:

The premise of the movie is a Beauty and the Beast with a modern twist when a New York teenager is transformed into a hideous monster in order to find true love. It co-stars Alex Pettyfer as the beast and Mary-Kate Olsen.

I can’t wait to see this! It has a release date of July 30, 2010.

Zac Efron has been nominated for a 2009 Teen Choice Award for Choice Male Hottie. He’s up against Robert Pattinson, Chace Crawford, the Jonas Brothers, and Taylor Kitsch.

Zac is also nominated for Choice Red Carpet Icon: Male alongside the Jonas Brothers, Adam Lambert, Justin Timberlake, and Kanye West.

Longtime girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens is also holding her own, having been nominated for the Female Hottie Award with Miley Cyrus, Megan Fox, Beyonce Knowles, and Blake Lively.

The Jonas Brothers are being rumored to both host and perform at the awards show. Fans ages 13-19 can vote once each day for their favorite in movie, TV, music, and other categories starting today.

The 2009 Teen Choice Awards will be aired Monday, August 10, on FOX.

The movie co-stars Aly Michalka, Gaelan Connell, and Lisa Kudrow. It hits theaters August 14th.

Zac Efron’s longtime girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens will be gracing the UK cover of the July issue of InStyle magazine.

In the accompanying article she talks a little about Zac, revealing that though they’ve been dating for three years they have no plans to move in together, and how at 20 she feels she should have a place of her own for a while:

“I’m young, I should have my own place. I think that everybody should buy their own home on their own.”

Her picture on the cover looks a little weird to me, like they had to Photoshop her head into position or something. What do you think?

Zac Efron was recently quoted as saying that he’d gladly cross-dress for a role, especially if it means he can act in a movie with girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens again!

Zac says he wants so badly to be in Vanessa’s next movie, “Sucker Punch,” that he’d gladly dress up as a woman to do it, because the movie is mostly an all-female cast.

Zac told E!: “I think it’s an all-girl movie. But if there’s any way to be in that film, I’d do it. I’d play a girl if I had to.”

Vanessa is apparently really excited to be in the film, and was quoted on the MTV Movie Awards red carpet saying “I’m so stoked about it. I kept telling everyone, ‘I want to do an action film’. But they were like, ‘Maybe in a few years.’ So I’m like, ‘Ha, in your face. I am doing one now!’”

Zac Efron’s longtime girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens has a new commercial for Neutrogena.

In it, Vanessa is wearing a cute pink tank top with her hair pulled back, and explains that the problem with other serious acne cleansers is that they “smell serious.” I actually really like the idea of a pink grapefruit-scented facial cleanser, I may have to pick up a bottle to try out!
